Is it true that reciting mantras will help you experience or see god?

"Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare

"This mantra, consisting of 16 words and 32 syllables, is the only means against evil in the age of Kali. After searching through all the Vedic literature, one cannot find a method of religion more sublime for this age than the chanting of Hare Krishna."

--- Kali-santarana Upanishad

It’s ideal to chant the Hare Krishna mantra 108 times, since that’s the number of beads making up a japa-mala, but it’s not essential.

If you want to know and experience the Absolute Truth, however, you have to chant a prescribed number of rounds every day on your japa-mala. Hare Krishna devotees typically chant 16 rounds daily, but if you can’t manage that, see if you can do four rounds daily. Four rounds take around half an hour to complete.

If you are serious about getting to know God, surely you can give Him half an hour a day.

To add Krishna to one's life, to make Him a tangible reality, doesn't require one to follow a lot of rules, shave one's head, dress in sheets, and move into the temple. One doesn't have to think about that, at all. All one has to think about, is to add Krishna to whatever one is doing. And the way to add Krishna to one’s life is done by chanting His names and reading about Him in the Vedic scriptures like Bhagavad Gita and the Bhagavat Purana.

Good luck i your endeavors…

Krishna says:

In this endeavor there is no loss or diminution, and a little advancement on this path can protect one from the most dangerous type of fear. (Bg 2.40)
